Our vision is of a world where disabled people can enjoy their rights and participate in society as fully as they choose.
Our mission is to support disabled people in Africa and Asia to challenge disability discrimination.
Our objectives are to:
• support organisations of disabled people in Africa and Asia to become strong and effective
• support disabled peoples’ organisations to influence policy and attitudes
• influence development organisations, relief agencies and donors to include the needs of disabled people in all their poverty reduction work.
Our work in Africa and Asia, supporting disabled people to access their most basic rights would be even more challenging without the continued loyalty of our supporters, donors and volunteers. We’d like to say a heartfelt 'thank you' to you all!
This valuable support means that we can reach out to children like 13 year old Pech who has an intellectual disability. Pech and her family live in a rural Cambodian village and are poor, really poor.
When we first met Pech in March this year, we were shocked and saddened by her appearance; she looked neglected, dirty and very sad. Villagers told us that Pech was always seen wandering around alone. Her parents didn’t care if she came home or not.
Benefiting from an ADD project, just nine months later, it is a very different story. You can read the whole story here.
Please support us with a donation that will help us to continue to bring about genuine, lasting change to the lives of disabled people like Pech who live in poverty in Africa and Asia.
