Empowerment

Photo: Emma Hines15% of the world’s population are disabled people – that's over one billion people

No one understands the challenges faced by disabled people in Africa and Asia more than disabled people who live there.  That is why we don't "do development" but instead build a shared understanding of the unique needs of each disabled people's organisation that we support.  Our role is to support disabled people through their organisations with training, mentoring, funding, conflict resolution and leadership development.

Being able to identify and find solutions to their own unique issues empowers disabled people and their organisations with the confidence to change attitudes, laws and policies for themselves.
