Since the closure of our small office in Mali in 2005, ADD International has been supporting disabled people’s organisations in Mali through our regional office for Francophone West Africa, which is based in neighbouring Burkina Faso.
As well as providing funding for activities, we help disabled people’s organisations to analyse their strengths and weaknesses and identify their learning needs which are met by ‘buying in’ training from other organisations working in Mali. Linking with other organisations not only helps in disabled people’s advocacy and influence work, but gives other development organisations an insight into disability issues.
